Cognitive therapists focus on the present instead of visiting all the issues of the past.
Why? The simple answer is that research shows us it is not necessary for change. In fact, the fastest change occurs in therapy when a client has clear and specific goals for change and then collaborates with the therapist to learn and apply skills to make that change.
